Soonest Express Co., Ltd. hosted The Strongest Citizen - Strongest Citizens 5K September Edition: Light Rain Fails to Dampen Spirits as Runners Praise the Event’s Vibrant Atmosphere.

Soonest Express Co., Ltd. join-handed with Sports Office, New Taipei City and Famous Sports Website, Soonnet, to provide free practice session and speed measurement for New Taipei citizens who are into marathon race.

Qixi, the Chinese Valentine’s Day, fell on August 19, coinciding with the latest edition of the Strongest Citizens 5K at Banqiao First Stadium. Despite torrential downpours brought by a low-pressure circulation system, the rain did little to dampen the enthusiasm of runners. More than an hour before the event was due to begin, a long line had already formed at the venue, with runners eagerly approaching staff to ask whether any on-site registration spots remained.

The rain came down heavily at times and eased at others, but runners simply carried on as if nothing had happened—proving once again that they were more than ready to weather the conditions. The event also attracted international participants, including TOMO, host of the YouTube channel “Japanese Running Around Taiwan,” who came to take part in the race. The appearance of other international runners further highlighted the growing visibility and appeal of the Strongest Citizens 5K.

In the days leading up to the event, many runners noticed that the race happened to fall on Qixi, prompting plenty of playful banter about the possibility of finding romance on the track. Some joked that they were “hoping to meet their special someone,” while others quipped, “If no one loves you on Qixi, come along and someone will.” One runner even joked about being careful not to trip over the legendary red thread of fate, while another teased that they had “already been waiting for two editions” of the race.
